Devizes to Westminster Canoe Event 2005
Easter Saturday 26th March to Easter Sunday 27th March 2005
Congratulations goes to Rob Ayre (PG Scout Parent) and John Boothman (13th Maidenhead cub Parent) for completing the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Event, which is 125 miles, they did it in 24 hours 11 minutes!
They did extremely well and came 34th
The London Marathon is 26 miles run on two legs in about four hours. The Devizes to Westminster is 125 miles paddled in a canoe with two arms!
They start at Devizes in Wiltshire, at 7am (GMT) on Easter Saturday and paddle without a break through night and day to finish at the Houses of Parliament at 7.11am (GMT) - Many don't make it. (The clocks went back during the night)
