This year over 50 members of PG represented the group at this years St Georges Day Parade. The object of the event is for all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Leaders, plus Guides to renew their promise(s); To honour the Queen; St George (Who is the Patron Saint of Scouting and England); Robert Baden-Powell (The founder of Scouting) and to celebrate Scouting.
Over 850 people attended this year. We matched from the Town Hall car park via the Broadway and Queen Street, where the Deputy Mayor and Our MP Teresa May were at the Saluting base, before going to the Magnet, this year we had to go through the car park, past Sainsburies then via the Sub Way. Before going in the Magnet for the Service. The Parade had the Salvation Army band at the front followed by all the Groups. The event in the Magnet was designed by the Beaver Scout Section.
